Anyone interested in using my desk/dresser until I return (as early as next Spring or as late as Fall)? It would save me some trouble so I'd really appreciate it.

I shouldn't be so sad or hard on myself about things. Life is a learning process that never ends.

That goes for you, too!! Be forgiving of yourself :D

Ok, I have a phone again!

I created a public lj for friends and family to keep updated on my experiences in Japan, so the general not-too-personal entries about my study abroad experience will go in here: [info]shoyujapan  (harharhar geeet it???)
14th-May-2008 04:54 pm - Anyone around have a spare Sprint phone?
thumper, bambi
Here's the story:

My phone is old, so it stopped working last week
I only need a replacement until mid-June, then I'm canceling my phone service
Pretty much all the phones I've found sell for $40+
I'm poor and can't justify spending that when I'll only use it for a month

Does anyone have an extra Sprint phone that I can use? If you want, I'll pay you, and I can return it to you when I'm done with it.

i ate at carson dining hall for my first time today. it was glorious. brings me back to my old cafeteria days at evergreen... :*(

i had an interview for the study abroad program i applied for. kind of made me realize the reality of the whole study abroad thing.

done with finals. i think i boosted my gpa this term. BREAKIN THE SPRING

i'm applying for scholarships... sigh, japan is probably going to financially fuck me but it'll be worth it. the dollar's value in yen went down too... -_- crossing my fingers that it all won't end up too bad. i'm probably going to be as frugal as possible until i depart for japan. maybe work a lot, and find ways to make a buck in japan - probably english teaching/tutoring. it'd probably be great experience anyway.

but that's assuming i get accepted to the program (i believe it is likely)

i know this is kind of lame, but i can't be the only person who frequently refers to the ABC song when i'm looking up something in alphabetical order... i can't be the only one!! Confess now. 21 years old and still using the ABC song, yes

i'm going on a 2-day trip to some oregon places... with friends. YES i am doing something COOL with FRIENDS :O

i think i've become an egg this year

... new teriyaki boyz single today but i can't find a torrent :|

I have a Japanese final tomorrow but more importantly due tuesday a paper that's still in the rough draft stage (and worth 20% of my grade!) and a presentation I could probably improve. And I realized I should start working on study abroad scholarships and it's going to be a lot of fucking work.

Haha I'm so baaaaaaaad. Tomorrow's gonna be a caffeine day.

I thought I used to be a better student, but maybe I never was... :P Guess it's the fact that I have to do real work in college now.

I turned in my application to do exchange study in Japan

Later we ate Chinese food and my fortune cookie said "You will step on the soil of many countries."

Come ooooooooooooooooonnnnn don't let me down fortune cookie!

I just slept for about 12 hours and had so many wacky dreams.

I should figure out where I'm going to stay for s-con. Hopefully something kind of economical - if you can hook a sister up, it would be much appreciated. I'll buy you food? Edit: Nevermind, I think I found a room. C:

Probably "you're good at that dancing game/DJ game!" haha (sadly)...

I've been working hard on school things and study abroad applications and glad this essay writing shit for my app is almost over. So far the plan is Japan this summer through next spring, which is a long-ass time, but it seems like the best option. Once I get settled somewhere, I seem to take off for a new place anyway. :( Hopefully this will be the last time. I've gone to a new school every year. Man, it really bothers me sometimes because I just don't feel very established anywhere.

And then there are scholarships (otherwise, Japan = loans)... and finals projects... on the upside, I don't have any final exams on finals week. Just one final the week before. This term's class workload has been a lot easier than last term, at least.

Oh, and I registered:
JPN 103 (1st Yr Japanese)
MUS 250 (Pop Mus Global Contxt)
BI 133 (Sensat, Behav, & Biol)

I've heard good things of the Japanese teacher, very good things. So I'm excited to finally have a good instructor. Studying popular music around the world, with a focus on identity and culture, sounds fucking awesome. I hope the biology teacher isn't as bad as rate my professor says. A lot my professors at UO have been mediocre or average, but at least one's gonna rock my socks off!!

I'm tired of working. I hope I don't get caught up in assignments this weekend. I spent all last weekend on my computer slaving away to prepare a presentation and I'm fucking burnt out. I need to see people badly, I need a social life. BLAH

ANYWAY, SUP WITH YOU GUYS!!!
